There's nothing quite like waking up at 8:00am after sleeping all of four hours to prepare for a cross country, sixteen hour bus ride with one stop and a non solids bathroom (if this is unclear it means that poop is prohibited).
Tired from making the most of my last days studying abroad and physically sick from a nasty cold that left me with a snotty face at best and achy, chilly bones at worst to top it off I was completely emotionally exhausted.
I realized that no matter how different my upbringing, I was able to connect with vastly different people on something that went much deeper than political affiliations and social classifications. But this is no sad, "woe is me" story!
If Costa Rica has taught me anything it's that I have been living it up and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. As sad as I was to turn the page of this chapter and the incredible people I have met in its pages there was so much more to look forward to in the near future. There are new novels to be written! Walking through Zapote with its secure and guarded streets I was joined by my lifetime best friend, Monica as we desperately and tenaciously crawled to the bus terminal, no hangover too strong or backpack too heavy could get in our way. In fact we were each carrying two backpacks in each direction, and that was after throwing away half of our belongings.
When you're planning to visit eight countries in three months, if youre slowing down you might as well stop right there.
